Dr. Hooman Farzaneh is a Jr. Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) at the Institute of Advanced Energy (IAE), Kyoto University, Japan. He has a BSc in Chemical Engineering and MSc and PhD in Energy Systems Engineering from the Azad University, Tehran, Iran. Dr. Hooman worked at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability, Tokyo, as a Postdoctoral research fellow, before joining the Kyoto University. He also collaborated with the graduate school of energy science, Kyoto University as a research fellow and a member of the GCOE scenario planning group . Dr. Hooman is particularly interested in issues related to quantitative and qualitative analysis focusing on developing research patterns of low carbon energy scenarios and policy implementations designed to tackle air pollution problems in both regional and local scales. Dr. Farzaneh serves as an editorial board member for J-SustaiN and as a regular reviewer for several international journals in the field of energy engineering. He is currently conducting the following projects at IAE: - Feasibility study of using a hybrid renewable energy system in Shinchi town, Fukushima, Japan. - Assessing the multiple benefits of clean energy policies in Asian mega-cities
